What Scuba Gear Will I Use?

During your dives you will use basic scuba gear including a dive computer. You may also use a compass, a dive slate, Fish ID slates, lift bags, an SMB or other specialty gear.

What You’ll Learn:

The PADI Advanced Open Water Course focuses on building your diving abilities through five exciting adventure dives. Two required dives include the Deep Dive (up to 30 meters/100 feet) and Underwater Navigation Dive. You’ll then choose three additional adventure dives to customize your experience. Popular options include:

  • Peak Performance Buoyancy for improved control and air efficiency.

  • Wreck Diving to explore underwater shipwrecks.

Who Can Enroll?

To sign up, you need to be a certified PADI Open Water Diver (or equivalent) and at least 12 years old. No written exam required, as this course is all about practical, hands-on diving experience!

Course Duration:

The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course typically takes two Days to complete and is designed to be flexible, allowing you to progress at your own pace.

    If you answer YES to any of the questions on the PADI Diver Medical, you will need to get a medical physician to sign the form to confirm fitness to dive prior to any in-water activities.

    You will not be able to participate in any pool or open water sessions without confirming your fitness to dive.

  • To enrol on the Advanced Open Water course you must have an existing PADI Open Water Diver (or equivalent) certification.

    Minimum age: 12

    Divers certified between the ages of 12-14 will earn a Junior Advanced Open Water Diver certification.

    Junior Advanced Open Water Divers automatically become Advanced Open Water Divers at the age of 15.
