Twinset Diver

Description

Have you ever needed more gas? Are you thinking about diving to depths beyond 40 metres? Maybe you just want to distribute your gas weight across your back? Then the twinset speciality may be for you! This course teaches you how to use a redundant rig that is one of the basic requirements for technical diving as well as giving you many more options if you find yourself in an emergency situation.

The use of smaller twinsets including twin 8ltr cylinders can also distribute weight better across an individuals back for some people. If you’re a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver who is at least 15 years old, you can enrol in a PADI Twinset Diver course.

Academic

The purpose of the Twin Set Diver specialty course is to familiarize divers with the skills, knowledge, planning, configuration, procedures, techniques, problems, hazards and benefits of diving with twin scuba cylinders. The Twin Set Diver specialty course is intended to serve as a safe, supervised introduction to recreational diving with dual scuba cylinders.

During the course you will cover:

  • The features, benefits and maintenance of twinsets for diving.

  • Twinset diving skills. How to plan, organize and conduct safe dives using a twinset.

Equipment

You’ll want to use your own mask, fins, snorkel and exposure suit. Your PADI Instructor will explain the twinset equipment you’ll need, such as a BCD and harness suitable for twinset diving along with an appropriate twinset size and regulators configured for twinset.
